Athena's by Mindy - About Me

Ok, so you are probably wondering why or how I got into home novelties? I sometimes ask myself that too. The real question is, "WHY?" My story begins with the birth of my daughter, Mikaela, in July of 2006. I always knew that I was meant to stay home with my children but, the question was, how would I make it work? I was a special needs teacher at the time and had been teaching for close to 10 years. In addition, was in the middle of my Master’s program at Lesley University. About to return to work in January 2007, I had the gut feeling that things just were not right in my life. There has to be a way for me to stay home. Don’t get me wrong I loved my job and Mikaela loved day care but still something wasn’t quite fitting into my life. So, I began searching online for ways to stay home. My husband was even trying to think of ways too. I always knew about Athena’s but, never really thought I could do that. Honestly, I wasn’t into the home party thing. I liked being home way too much at night. Well, I tried another company and requested information on many, many other work from home companies. I liked one company and joined and still love it but, it’s not exactly fun. The products are awesome and I tell people about them as much as I can and don’t think I will ever give them up but, I am not going to push them to make money. So, then I decided look into Athena’s a little more because since I can remember I wanted to be a sexual therapist. That wasn't an option at the time, so I decided that the next best thing is educating women on their sexual beings and how to enhance sex with a partner or alone. One of the main reasons I chose Athena’s is because I believe in the Athena’s message: "there is nothing shameful or dirty about sex." Sexuality is an important part of being a human being and each person is a beautiful and sexual being! So here I am, no one recruited me, I just signed up on my own and said why not, what do I have to loose? I am granteed to get out for a few hours and show some ladies, men or couples how to enhance their sexual lives without making it perverted, dirty or gross. Guests are immediately put at ease, I help create a healthy, light hearted and affirming atmosphere during the party and all ordering is done confidentially. There is nothing wrong with exploring your own desires or wanting to enhance your sexual experience with your partner. Learning about your body and what pleasure it is capable of is not "dirty" or "gross." Knowing how to please your partner doesn’t make you "a pervert!" Plus, I liked the idea that I can take the stigma out of shopping for adult products and while there are a lot of laughs at a party, no one is ever ashamed or embarrassed. I loved that fact that I am home all week, pick the evenings that I will be out or weekend I want to work and I am not gone all night. That’s the best part. I can be gone for an afternoon or an early evening. My dear sweet husband liked that I would be home to cuddle and not out to the wee hours of the morning. He liked being able to book my weekend if he just wanted me home all day or at certain times. I like that I can be home for both my daughter and husband taking care of them and the house. Plus, it gives me plenty of time for myself. Finally, I can be crafty and creative again with little projects. Athena’s has also created an opportunity for me to have Heavenly Goddess parties. I can appeal to clients that are not into the home novelties but are into spa treatment and pampering themselves. Athena’s has given me the vehicle to start my own business within my means. I can create my business at my own pace and on my own time. Additionally, I have never felt so welcomed and supported by such a beautiful group of women. I see them all doing it. I see them at home with their kids. I feel the love and support from my Mother Goddess. She was once like me and look at her now. She even offered to help me become a sexual educator. Not a therapist but, cheaper. ;) I am inspired to create my business, create my own hours, work when I want and give my family the things they desire. I am not looking to get rich quick. I firmly believe "Good things come to those who wait." Hey, it took me two years to get my beautiful little girl. Seriously, join me or just have a party and let me share the Goddess soul with you!
